Volunteers who grab their hammers and build affordable housing alongside our construction staff and family partners are vital to helping realize Houston Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Our build schedule is Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30am until 2pm. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to work on the build site, and must be at least 18 years of age to use power tools and to participate in roof work. Don’t worry if you lack building experience; our staff is happy to teach! We are currently building in Harrel Park, located in Northeast Houston.
Clerical volunteers at our main office and our ReStore are always needed to help the staff of Houston Habitat complete our mission. Volunteers assist us with day to day clerical duties, such as answering phones and making calls, data entry, and much more!
Volunteer opportunities are available at our main office, located at 3750 N. McCarty, Houston, TX 77029, Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. Volunteer shifts are at least three hours and can be flexible to fit your schedule.
The ReStore, located at 6161 South Loop East, Houston, TX 77087, is a non-profit home improvement store and donation center. It is a great place to find discounts on hardware, appliances and architectural elements. All of the proceeds from our ReStore go back into helping Houston Habitat build more homes!
We are always in need of volunteers to work with our ReStore staff to create a friendly and helpful shopping experience for our customers. Volunteers assist in unloading our trucks, merchandising and pricing, assisting customers on the sales floor, and much more!
ReStore volunteer opportunities are available Monday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm. Volunteer shifts are at least three hours and can be flexible to fit your schedule.
